Miley Cyrus has opened up in a shiny new interview with Marie Claire, and proven once again exactly why we love her:
Because she ain’t scared of saying what is really on her mind, no matter who it might upset.
.
Yasss, you go Miley, you total babe, you.
Taking a break from creating an Instagram page wild enough to make our grannies grimace and helping the world with her fab charitable cause ‘Happy Hippie Foundation’, Miley opened up on the double standards of the industry, and no, those double standards aren’t just a norm between men and women.
In fact, the 22 year old can’t help but notice that while she is called a “bad role model” for being a little bit raunchy and “getting her t*tties out”, Taylor Swift is hailed as a hero despite endorsing “violent revenge”.
.
Speaking about Tay’s ‘Bad Blood’ music video, which is all but confirmed to be about the 25 year old ‘getting revenge’ on Katy Perry and features Taylor rallying her gun-wielding girl gang to get her own back, Miley explains: “I don’t get the violence revenge thing.
.
“That’s supposed to be a good example? And I’m a bad role model because I’m running around with my t*tties out?
“I’m not sure how t*tties are worse than guns.“
Hey, you said it, babes.
.
‘Bad Blood’ isn’t even Taylor’s only song to see her go after another girl in a bid for revenge, with Speak Now album track ‘Better Than Revenge’ reportedly being about actress Camilla Belle ‘stealing’ Joe Jonas from her before they were ever really exactly going out.
Erm?
The track boasts the lyrics: ‘She’s not a saint and she’s not what you think, she’s an actress.
.
“But she’s better known for the things that she does on the mattress.”
Before threatening: “Soon she’s gonna find stealing other people’s toys from the playground won’t make you many friends.
“She should keep in mind there is nothing I do better than revenge.”
Yikes.
.
Still, Miley has her own theories as to why she is always represented in such a bad light, going on to add: “Lately, I’ve been talking a lot about my being gender-fluid and gender-neutral. And some people snarl at that.
“They want to judge me. People need more conventional role models, I guess.
“But I just don’t care to be that person.”
.
And ironically, we reckon that is exactly why Miley Cyrus really is such a ruddy good role model.
Never change, babes, never change.
